International Bancshares Corporation is a financial holding company with its main office in Laredo, Texas. The four banking branches provide commercial and retail financial services through major banking institutions and branches located in southern, central and southeastern Texas and Oklahoma. The Company was originally incorporated in 1979 under the General Corporation Law of the State of Delaware. On June 7, 1995, the company's registration was changed from Delaware to Texas. The company is organized in accordance with the Bank Holding Company Ordinance, revised in 1956, and operates as a bank holding company. Therefore, it is regulated by the board of directors of the Federal Reserve System. As a registered bank holding company, the company may own one or more banks and may participate directly or through subsidiaries in activities closely related to the bank, which are specifically permitted by the Bank Holding Company Regulations and the Federal Reserve System. On March 13, 2000, the company was certified as a financial holding company and has been involved in a wide range of financial and non-financial activities since then.
